Placencia is the most famous beach in Belize, and is in fact a peninsula of sixteen mile surrounded by the Caribbean Sea and the Placencia Lagoon, forming a fantastic beach, with one of the clearest water in the Caribbean. Placencia has also abundant flora and fauna, and you can arrange trips to the beautiful cays where you will find amazing bird species.
In Belize you have more things to see besides the beautiful beaches. The Mayan empire had left amazing constructions that really worth your time, like for example the Caana, a Mayan pyramid in Caracol, in the Cayo District.

There are excellent hotels in Belize, most of them are all inclusive types, but if you are short on budget you can also check the good rates that the Belize hostels have to offer.
FLIGHTS AND HOW TO GO TO BELIZE
Belize is just around two hours from Miami or Houston, and major airlines companies like American Airlines, US Air and Delta Airways have regular flights to Belize. If you are coming from Europe, it could be better to connect from Guatemala City.
